Mrs. Mc Leod’s Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Erin’s Mammy is coming into 1st Class to give us baking lessons. So far we have made buns, sausage rolls, gingerbread and cookies. These cookies were delicious and quick and easy to make.

Here’s the recipie to try at home:-)

Ingredients:

100g Dark chocolate (chopped or broken into chunks)

125g butter

100g granulated sugar

75g soft brown sugar

1 egg

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

150g plain flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Method:

Melt the butter with the two sugars. Mix well.

Add the egg and vanilla. Mix well.

Sift in flour and baking powder. Mix well.

Add chocolate chunks. Mix well.

Spoon tablespoons of the mix onto lined baking sheets, leaving space as they will spread.

Bake in oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 10 minutes until golden brown.

Leave to cool on trays.

Note: You can sandwich ice-cream between these for an extra special treat or use any different type of chocolate you like instead of the 100g dark chocolate in the recipie. Experiment and find your favourite flavour!
