DROICHEAD ARTS VISIT OUR SCHOOL

WE WERE DELIGHTED TO HAVE TWO ARTISTS FROM THE OUTREACH PROGRAMME, FUNDED BY DROICHEAD ARTS, VISIT OUR SCHOOL TO HOST ART WORKSHOPS FOR 3RD, 4TH & 5TH CLASS. EVERY PUPIL HAD TO DESIGN A PLANET. ALL PLANETS WERE THEN PLACED ON A LARGE  BACKGROUND AND WHEN READY WILL BE ON DISPLAY IN THE SCHOOL.  THANKS KIERAN AND YVONNE FOR A FUN FILLED DAY FULL OF CREATIVITY!

SUPER SAMBA SHOW!

 

4th, 5th & 6th class had six samba drumming lessons with Kieran Gallagher of Kada Kaboom Arts. They performed for their families and some of the younger classes and show how much they had learned. We have some very talented drummers in our school! Well done everyone and thanks to all who came to watch us.

Field trip

On October 10th, 5th & 6th class went on a field trip to Millmount Museum and around Drogheda. It was really interesting and a great way to incorporate geography and history on a day out!

CRAZY HAIR/VALENTINE’S DAY

We had a Crazy Hair Day on February 13th to help our Parents Association raise funds for the school. It was great fun!

Friendship Week

5th classes enjoyed doing art work based on friendship and Ms. McEvoy’s class had a friendship party where every child had to bring in something to share with the rest of the class.

Friendship Week

As part of friendship week, 5th and 6th class pupils organised activities on the yard with the younger classes – skipping, football, chalk drawing and playing with hoola hoops!

WELL DONE TO ALL THE PUPILS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS YEAR’S CREDIT UNION SCHOOLS QUIZ. WE HAD THIRTEEN TEAMS PARTICIPATING THIS YEAR WITH ONE TEAM COMING FIRST PLACE (5TH CLASS) AND ANOTHER COMING 2ND PLACE (4TH CLASS) IN THE UNDER 12 SECTION:

WE CELEBRATED ST. BRIGID’S DAY BY ATTENDING MASS, DOING ART WORK ABOUT ST. BRIGID AND BY MAKING ST. BRIGID’S CROSSES. MR. MOORE’S CLASS DID A SUPER JOB OF MAKING CROSSES.
