Ready, Set, Go – Maths

This year Junior Infants have had the opportunity to take part in Ready, Set , Go – Maths . We have had Ms Woods and Ms Keogh to help us . We have 4 stations and we get to try a different activity at each station. It is our favourite time of the day. We learn lots of new skills in a fun and practical way. Ms Moran took photographs of our Maths stations. We hope you enjoy them

Handwriting Wizards

The boys and girls in Junior Infants have been working so hard at their handwriting. Ms Moran is delighted with the progress everyone has been making and some children got to go to her office today for a principals reward. Ms Moran is looking forward to having a visit from more handwriting wizards soon. Well done to all the Junior Infants .

St Patrick’s Day

Happy St Patrick’s Day from all in Junior Infants. We dressed in green today and had fun with some shamrock art. We are busy preparing for our Seó Gaeilge which takes place next week. We hope everyone has a great day tomorrow and a lovely weekend.

St Valentines Day

Happy St Valentines Day from everyone in Junior Infants.We made special love bugs to give to someone we love. It is also Ash Wednesday and we all got our ashes as the season of Lent begins. Click on our photograph to see our lovely art.

Crazy Hair/ Valentines Day

Today we all dressed up for Crazy Hair & Valentines Day. Everyone looked fab. It was also pancake Tuesday so we learned about why we eat pancakes on this day and how to make them!! Tomorrow we will get our ashes for Ash Wednesday. This will be the start of Lent. We are all going to try really hard to be nice to each other during the season of Lent.

CRAZY HAIR/VALENTINE’S DAY

We had a Crazy Hair Day on February 13th to help our Parents Association raise funds for the school. It was great fun!

A Special Day

Today was a very special day in Junior Infants. We celebrated St Brigid’s Day and Grandparents Day by inviting our grandparents to visit our room. We were very excited to have so many visitors. We sang songs , said a poem and spoke about how much we loved our grandparents. Everyone had a treat at the end. It was a lovely morning and we would like to say a big THANKYOU to everyone who came. We would also like to thank Ms Keogh for the yummy cupcakes . We hope you enjoy the photographs.

Festive Funday

We had such fun in Junior Infants today. We were all wearing our festive clothes. We had a visitor in our room , he was wearing a big red suit and a he had a white beard . We got a present for our class and a special treat for every boy and girl. After Santa left we made Gingerbread cookies. We rolled out our dough and used cutters for each cookie. Everyone got to make one. They went into the oven for 15 minutes and then we ate them with our lunch .

Our Nativity

Junior Infants performed the nativity at the school carol service yesterday. We were so happy that so many people came to see us as we worked very hard getting everything ready. It was a very special morning and the boys and girls did a great job. Everyone in Scoil Bhríde is so proud of Junior Infants and Daniel and Ella from 6th class who were our narrators.

Christmas Preparations

Junior Infants have been very busy preparing for Christmas. We have decorated our room with beautiful art work . We printed angels and stars for our windows , used oil pastels to draw festive reindeers and cut and decorated our very own gingerbread men. We also designed beautiful Winter Hats.We have also made great progress with reading words and were able to make CVC inspired Christmas Trees. We have also learned about Advent and light our wreath everyday. Finally we have been really busy rehearsing for our Nativity play and look forward to seeing everyone in the church next week. We hope you enjoy our work .
