Senior Infants have just completed five weeks of Station Teaching. There were four stations set up in the classroom with a teacher at each station. These stations were: Phonics, Reading, Dictation and Creative Writing. All the children worked very hard at each station. Senior Infants really enjoyed Station Teaching!

As part of our weight topic in Maths, the 3rd class maths group made a carrot cake. We carefully followed a recipe, making sure that we weighed out all the ingredients correctly. The ingredients were mixed together and then transferred into a round baking tray. The cake was left to bake in the oven for 35 minutes. We enjoyed sampling the cake after it had been iced.
This week Miss Gillespie’s maths group explored 2D shapes. We used tangrams to create images. We used our problem solving skills. It was great fun!
We are all really enjoying Station Teaching. Everyone is working very hard. We are listening to and discussing stories. We are working on our dictation skills too. We are also writing our very own storybooks about Little Red Riding Hood. We are going to put them in the class library for everyone to read when they are finished!
