Today we celebrated the feast of St Brigid , the patron saint of our school and parish . The boys and girls explored the story of St Brigid’s Cloak and then illustrated the story with beautiful pictures.

A huge thank you to Lily and Adam who brought rushes to school. We were able to see the traditional method of making a St Brigid’s cross. Thank you so much to Ms McGeough who helped us. The boys and girls also made their own crosses using their marla and we saw how other materials like pipe cleaners can be used . We hope you like them 😊.

Finally we concentrated on St Brigid herself. We did lovely pictures in our copies and learned the wonderful song, St Brigid’s Cloak , which was composed by local musician Daithí Kearney. We are proud to be associated with St Brigid and wear her cross on our school crest. The boys and girls did a great job honouring her special day , well done everybody 😊.
