Exploding Volcanoes!

This week in Science 1st Class made exploding volcanoes!

If you want to try them at home you will need:

Cardboard, a small jar, a spoon, bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, food colouring and washing up liquid.

What to do:

Make a volcano shape out of cardboard. We cut out a circle with a slice missing and cellotaped it up leaving a hole in the top.

Put the jar in the middle of the hole and pour some vinegar, food colouring and washing up liquid into it. We placed our volcano on a tray in case it spilled out onto the table.

Add a spoon of bicarbonate of soda and stand back!
