We had a fantastic and busy day in 1st class for the 1st of February. It was St Brigid’s Day and the Chinese New Year and we had lots of fun celebrating both. We did some weaving last week and made St. Brigid’s cloak to start the celebrations. We think the spring colours are so beautiful and bright. Today we read all about St Brigid and her life and Mrs Clayton came into our class to show us how to make a St Brigid’s cross with some lovely rushes that Aidan brought in for us. We also all got some rushes of our own to take home and try our own St Brigid’s cross. Later we made beautiful lanterns to celebrate the Chinese New Year and they looked gorgeous shining in the sunlight and Ruoxue told us all about how to celebrate this wonderful time of year.
