LOTS OF AWARDS & REWARDS
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE THIS MONTH WHO WERE NAMED DALTA NA MÍOSA, RECEIVED A SPECIAL COMMENDATION, GOT INTO THE GOLDEN BOOK AND FOR EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE ALL YEAR! 3RD CLASS PERFORMED “ROCKING ALL OVER THE WORLD” AT ASSEMBLY AND WERE SUPER!
HAVE A WONDERFUL SUMMER EVERYONE AND SEE YOU ALL ON THURSDAY AUGUST 29TH.
WE SAY GOODBYE TO OUR SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANT MS. MCDONALD WHO WILL BE LEAVING US TOMORROW. WE WILL MISS HER AND WE THANK HER FOR HER WONDERFUL WORK IN THE SCHOOL OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS.
A TREAT FOR THE CHOIR
AS A TREAT FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK AND WONDERFUL SINGING AND COMMITTMENT, MS. KEOGH AND MS. MORAN TOOK ALL MEMBERS TO THE FRANKLYN CAFE FOR HUGE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES AND A DRINK. THIS WAS A WELL DESERVED TRIP TO ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE LOCAL EATERIES!
GOODBYE 6TH CLASS
On June 21st we said goodbye to 6th class. Graduation mass was held on June 20th to celebrate and make the children’s journey in primary school and to wish them well as they take the next big step in life – wishing them all happiness, good health and success in secondary school. Thanks to 6th class who nominated “Collon Animal Sanctuary” as the recipient of our annual Fun Day & Ice-cream party. €565 was raised for this wonderful cause! Lynne Archer was delighted to recieve the cheque at our graduation mass.
BEST DAY EVER!!!!
OUR FUN DAY WAS FILLED WITH ACTIVITIES, ICE-CREAM AND MUSIC AND THIS YEAR WE HAVE TWO VERY SPECIAL GUESTS – WORLD ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS PAUL AND GARY O’DONOVAN! IT WAS A VERY SPECIAL DAY AND THE BROTHERS JOIN IN LOTS OF THE ACTIVITIES AND MADE THIS AN AMAZING EVENT! THANKS TO FBD WHO TOOK THE BROTHERS TO OUR SCHOOL TO PRESENT US WITH A VOUCHER FOR €3,000 TO BUY SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR OUR SCHOOL. A HUGE THANKS TO SARAH LYNCH WHO ENTERED THE COMPETITON WHICH WAS RUN BY FBD. HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF THE DAY. YOU CAN ALSO LISTEN TO A PODCAST AND SEE MORE PHOTOS ON https://www.lmfm.ie/home. An amazing €565 was raised on the day for Collon Animal Sanctuary- the charity chosen by 6th class. Well done everyone!
ANNUAL CAKE SALE, RAFFLE & PLANT SALE
On June 13th we had our annual cake sale, raffle and plant sale. It was a very busy day and we are delighted that the day was a great success. We made just over €1,600 from the cake sale and raffle and the proceeds will to purchasing resources for the school. Thanks to Ms. McEvoy and her class for all their great work and raising the most money ever for this event!
The plant sale raised over €500 which will go towards enhancing our school grounds which will be managed by our Green Schools Student Council, led by Mr. Moore our Green Schools Co-ordinator. Thanks to Mr. Moore and the GSSC for organising this very successful event.

LANN LÉIRE COACHES VISIT THE SCHOOL
Lann Léire coaches visited the school and gave training sessions to Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st class & 2nd class. All the children had a wonderful time and were encouraged to join Lann Léire. Prizes were given to one child in each class who showed super committment and skills and each class was given two footballs as a thank you for participting.
Coaching for girls and boys takes place at the Lann Léire pitch on Wednesday at 6.30 pm and children are encourged to join. This is a great way to socialise with peers and participate in physical activity. Children who play sports will have an opportunity to represent the school in sporting events.

FOUR CLASSES ON SCHOOL TOUR – JUNE 14TH.
4th class, 5th class and 6th class had a great time on their school tour to Celtic Adventures in Clogherhead.
