We had a very exciting day in Junior Infants today. We were very lucky to have Leah’s grandparents come to visit and talk to us about their memories of primary school. They had lots of interesting things to tell us. We learned that Leah’s granny went to Scoil Bhríde and back then it was much smaller , our classroom wasn’t even built. She told us that she had a lid on her desk and kept her books in a basket by the side. We all got the chance to ask questions about subjects they liked , what songs they learned and if they had games and toys like we do. Leah’s grandparents said lots of children went home for their lunch and if you stayed you had jam sandwiches and milk. Leah’s granny remembered learning a song called Skip to my Lou and we were delighted to show her a dance we learned to the exact same song . We really had a lovely lesson and we would like to say a huge THANKYOU to Mr & Mrs Sheeran .
